Belle-île-en-mer

Hello and welcome to Belle-Île-en-Mer

We are delighted to welcome you to the apartments of the Hôtel du Phare, a house born in 1880 which was handed down to us in 2017 by the Pacalet family.

Our renovation project for the Hôtel du Phare was born from our attachment to Belle-Ile-en-Mer and the Breton region, its wild coasts, its iconic sailors and its gastronomy as much made of freshness as it is gourmet. Sensitive to the spirit of hospitality and beautiful family stories, we wanted to keep the charm of this legendary establishment, with nods to the great figures of the island and vintage furniture from the 1950s.

We hope you will have an excellent stay on this island of beauty and nature, by the ocean, surrounded by the pretty colored facades of the port of Sauzon.

You will find in the following pages some useful information for your stay that we wish you most enjoyable. We hope you will be completely satisfied with your apartment.

Bienvenu Hotel Du Phare

The little story of the Hôtel du Phare

1880

An inescapable symbol of the Port of Sauzon, the Hôtel du Phare was built in 1880. Ideally located at the end of the quay of the town’s port, it offers one of the most beautiful views of Belle-Île-en-Mer. Since its construction, the establishment has continued to be a landmark for artists and locals. Notable visitors include Sarah Bernhardt, Arletty and Jacques Prevert, all of whom have visited the Hôtel du Phare.

1950

Since 1950, the Hôtel du Phare has been managed from generation to generation by the Pacalet family.

2017

It was in August 2017 that it closed its doors and changed hands, to the Lorenzetti family, which would undertake major renovations to give it new life.

It is while preserving the charm and history of the hotel that the rooms have been transformed and reconfigured into apartments for weekly rentals. The work was carried out by local companies, respecting the building so that it retains its traditional and original appearance. However, the interior of the building offers a decoration combining tradition and modernity. It is a soft mix of vintage, navy atmosphere, mixing pretty furniture signed from the 50s, found or renovated by the owner and more contemporary furniture.

On the restaurant side, the Lorenzetti family entrusted the renovation work to architect, urban planner and designer Jean-Michel Wilmotte. The Hôtel du Phare did not fail to arouse his interest and it is with talent that he was able to bring his vision to succeed in its transformation into an original approach, re-employing in a very particular way the codes of Brittany. The restaurants offer a unique atmosphere with a breathtaking view of the port of Sauzon. The two interior rooms of the restaurant, on the ground floor and on the first floor, offer a modern design with a friendly brasserie-style atmosphere.
